And Here We Go...

This is it...the students are coming tomorrow for a full first day!  I can't even begin to count up the number of hours I spent in the room (and at home) getting ready, but I think I am finally there.  As always there are a few minor details to complete, but I can't do that until the kids arrive.  I'm so happy to be back in the classroom this year and even more thrilled that I have a small class size (smaller class size = more hands on activities!).  As promised here are pics of my [almost] finished classroom...enjoy! I'm not certain it is Pinterest-worthy, but it will do for now ;0).

Classroom Set-up

Ahhhh!  Where do I even begin?!?  The overwhelming feeling of having to unpack everything and make the room look Pinterest-worthy is giving me an anxiety attack.  Deep breath, and....okay...I do this every year...it will be okay.  Switching classrooms and grade levels can be scary, but it is a new adventure and I'm excited for it to begin!  Now, if I could just figure out where to start...

Is anyone else feeling this way?  I will post after pics...but here are a few more before pictures to help you feel better about tackling your classroom!

Alright...let's do this!

Summer is officially OVER!

So here we are, the last day of July...where has summer gone?  I had so many plans for the summer, but feel like I accomplished nothing.  Ah well...back to the real world!

This week, I've been teaching at my school district's Tech Academy.  It is amazing to see so many teachers give up their last moments of summer to learn and grow as professionals.  Why do they do it?  They do it because they want to be ready for those smiling (sometimes crying) faces coming into their classrooms in a few weeks.  I am in awe of the amount of learning and collaborating taking place right now!  Check out one of the sites that seems to be a hit with the teachers this year:
